Doberman named Turbo disappeared late Sunday night after his gate was left open and was found late Monday morning after a group of dolphins alerted neighbor’s attention by persistant splashing.

Poor 11-year-old dog may have been stuck in the canal water for 15 hours near his home in Marco Island, Florida, before unnamed neighbor jumped in the shallow water to rescue the paddling pooch.

“The lady here who had gotten him out of the canal said the dolphins were with him,’” said Cindy Burnett, owner of Turbo.

The exhausted pup was “shivering and distressed” when Burnett got to him, but she acknowledges that it could’ve been much worse if the dolphins hadn’t been there to help him, reports NBC-2.
