Police are investigating a hair-raising heist from a beauty-supply company in Chicago. A huge steel door with two deadbolt locks had been pried open at Beauty One, 616 W. Roosevelt, before the strands were swiped, police said. The door’s frame and bricks on the building were also damaged in the heist, a Central District police sergeant said.
It was a well-planned heist on the quietest day of the year, Easter Sunday, and burglars who knew exactly what they were looking for: top-quality human hair and hair products collectively worth $80,000.
The burglars rolled up in a plain white van and boldly went to work, battering away at the back door, according to surveillance video shared with CBS 2.
