Poop Burger: Artificial Meat from Human Feces (Video)

A Japanese scientist has created a poop burger: sandwich made from soy, steak sauce and protein extracted from human feces.
Mitsuyuki Ikeda, a scientist at the Environmental Assessment Center in Okayama, developed a process which begins by extracting protein and lipids from the protein-rich waste: sewage mud. And no matter what euphemism you can think of – this is poop we are talking about here. You can add all the soy and steak sauce you want – it’s still shit.
To top it all off, the price of the poop burger is currently 10-20 times that of regular meat, due to the cost of research. The price may go down in the future, but I don’t see how anyone will ever take a bite of a poop burger and not vomit right away, recycling and environment be damned. Or is it just me?
On the other hand, it could be worse: we could be eating soylent green.
UPDATE: the story could be fake. I guess we’ll see how it plays out soon.
