Hibernian defender Callum Booth accidentally hit a seagull flying above the pitch during Tuesday’s pre-season friendly with Dunfermline. Unlike some soccer players, the seagull didn’t dive and start rolling around on the ground. Instead, the bird regained composure and flew out of the stadium.
A 5’9″ “short” Israeli tennis player, Dudi Sela, needed a chair to give his opponent (and a friend), 6’11″ tall Croatian Ivo Karlović, a post-match hug at the Claro Open Colombia in Bogota, on Thursday.

A seaplane almost hit a whale while landing on water in Angoon, Alaska, on July 10. Luckily, the pilot managed to pull the plane up just in time to avoid a collision with the surfacing whale. Thomas Hamm caught the close call on camera.

Troy and Kristin Dickerson were racing from Rosenberg to Texas Children’s Hospital, in Houston, for the birth of their third child. But, they didn’t quite make it there in time. Their baby boy, Truett, was born outside the hospital’s valet entrance. Dad managed to film the crazy ride to the hospital and the birth with a GoPro camera strapped to his head:

During Saturday’s basketball match between Mexico and Slovakia, at the 2014 FIBA Under-17 World Championship for Women, a Slovakian player managed to score against her own team after a Mexican player missed a free throw. Right after that, the Mexican side started their attack…in the wrong direction! What’s even worse – the refs allowed them to put the ball back into play. Unreal!
