During a storm in Komiža, on Croatia’s island of Vis, an Italian-owned yacht got untied from a dock and ended up stranded on a local beach. No one was on the yacht during the accident. The grounding was caught on camera by a bystander. Things get somewhat dramatic towards the end of the video:

A small plane made an emergency landing on Mahurangi beach in New Zealand after the aircraft’s engine failed, only to crash again later during take-off. Pilot Dennis Horn and his co-pilot Manfred Scherbius were both uninjured.
This fascinating jellyfish-like creature is known as a Portuguese man o’ war (Physalia physalis) and it ended up on a beach in Olivenca, Bahia, Brazil. The Portuguese man-of-war is a siphonophore, an animal made up of many tiny organisms called zooids. Its sting hurts like hell.
