A tourist was filmed in Boca Paila, Mexico, swimming away from a large crocodile that was pursuing him. The guy managed to escape thanks to a quick-thinking observer who threw an object at the croc. According to reports, the locals don’t swim in the water because they consider it too dangerous.
Diver and underwater cameraman, Chris Coates, gets a huge surprise when a whale shark swims straight into him during a spearfishing film shoot. Chris manages to get his body out the way just in time, but takes the impact on his lower torso, and then the whale shark’s dorsal fin hits him in the head. Luckily he wasn’t injured.

A young couple were nearly hit by lightning while trying to take a selfie. They were swimming and snorkeling at Yal-Ku Lagoon in Akumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico, when the lifeguards asked them to exit water because of the approaching storm. Before leaving they decided to take one last selfie, but it seems that the god of lightning hates selfies:
