French rally driver Guerlain Chicherit performed the first ever unassisted 360-degree backflip in a car, on Sunday. Chicherit launched his specially built Mini Countryman off a ramp in the French ski resort of Tignes, soaring 75ft into the air before flipping the car.

Richard Henriksen was about to BASE jump off a high bar when the metal rod he was somersaulting around suddenly collapsed, sending him flying off a 4000ft cliff. The veteran BASE jumper was performing the stunt for a Norwegian TV show when the accident happened. Luckily, he narrowly missed falling against the rock face of the cliff and managed to open his parachute on the way down.
