A photographer had a close encounter with a bull elk in the Cataloochee Valley of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, on October 20. It started pretty harmless and the photographer was hoping that the elk would lose interest, but the elk became more aggressive, lowering his antlers and full-on headbutting the photographer. The whole thing was caught on camera by another photographer – Vince M. Camiolo:

One can argue that the bikers were blocking the passing lane, but according to them – this was an organized event with police escort and all the cars were given the opportunity to pass every few miles.
