Jason Strickland of the Denbigh Bird Club and kayaker Amy Angelopoulos rescued an osprey from the grips of a clam in Pleasure House Point Natural Area in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The clam grabbed onto the osprey’s foot and was pulling him down. After the humans freed him, the bird stayed around for a minute to dry off and then flew away. A seagull caught in power lines near the Lesner Bridge in Virginia Beach got rescued by the Virginia Dominion Power helicopter crew who turned the bird over to the local SPCA. According to the latest reports, the seagull is successfully recovering.
